OCTOBER 27-31 AT SOMERVILLE THEATRE, DAVIS SQUARE

If you were to ask me how I would want to spend Halloween –  my favorite holiday –  I would say watching fantastic horror movies in a rad movie theater surrounded by super cool folks, and the Somerville Theatre is making my dream come true! Come celebrate spooky season with me and watch the films I selected from my life long horror fan mental vault to get you in the holiday mood! From gore to ghouls & vamps to victims, there’s a little something for every kind of horror fan – and every horror fan knows that scary films are so much better on a big screen with a crowd full of enthusiastic viewers. So come to the cinema this Halloween and watch these horror flicks the way they were meant to be seen – in a cinema with an audience!

DOUBLE FEATURE OF ANTHOLOGY DELICIOUSNESS

CREEPSHOW (35MM) + DEAD OF NIGHT

Anthology horror offers a little something for everyone, a tantalizing assortment of tasty tidbits, each tuned in to one of our fears. Creepshow continues the Romero party from the evening  before and this time he brings his friend Stephen King! Dead of Night is one of the earliest horror anthologies and one of the best – if you haven’t seen this one, treat yourself. Smart, spooky and very very well done!

A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH

ANGEL HEART + JACOB’S LADDER (35MM)

These films are under seen horror masterpieces and I encourage you to give them a try, if you don’t already know their genius already! From Alan Parker and Adrian Lyne, respectively, these films feature beautiful cinematography, legit scares, and outstanding performances from their leads, Mickey Rourke & Tim Robbins. We all love a slasher film, but getting to dive deep into dark, smart psychological horror can lead to whole new kinds of scares.
