Yes, You Can Go Ice Skating During COVID-19!

When you think about winter, what comes to mind? Snow, people bundled up, hot chocolate and most famous of all — ice skating.

We all know how COVID-19 has impacted everyday life for Bostonians, but it couldn’t get worse, or could it? Sadly, it can. Add ice skating to the list (for the most part), as ice skating rinks in Boston will remain closed for the 2020-2021 skating season.

“Due to COVID-19 guidance issued by local communities, Kelly Outdoor Rink in the City of Boston will be the only DCR-managed rink offering public skating at this time.”

Don’t pack away those skates yet, as there is one skating rink that you can still go to. Here is what you need to know:

Kelly Outdoor Rink

Location: 1 Marbury Terrace, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

Information:

• Limit of 25 participants

• No registration, as it is first come, first serve

• Sessions run all week in two hour periods, starting at 12 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. from Sunday to Friday, with the last session ending at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the rink opens at 2 p.m.

• Renting skates: $2 for youth, $3 for adults
