Eva, New Newbury Street Restaurant

New Newbury Street Restaurant ‘Eva’ to replace ‘Cafeteria.’ These delicious news come after the Uber-popular Cafeteria on Newbury Street closed its doors during the pandemic after over thirteen years. The owner, George Aboujaoude - also Committee’s (Seaport) and Bijou Nightclub & Lounge owner - will be opening Eva in the same spot!

After much needed time to rethink the restaurant during the downtime of the pandemic, Aboujaoude will be completely transforming the space to make Eva an iconic spot starting this March! The name of the restaurant is inspired by the owner’s children whose initials make up the name Eva. The space will be designed to be welcoming, bright, and a place with great food and cocktails.

“After 13 amazing years and the pandemic it felt like the perfect time for a change,” Aboujaoude said. “I can’t wait for longtime regulars to experience our new menu, new look, and energy. I expect new customers will quickly become regulars.”

The menu will include modern American dishes with an extensive list of traditional appetizers, salads, and main courses. There will also be a carefully curated, craft cocktail program. In addition to the classic cocktails, bartenders will offer a list of inventive '“signature” libations that are set to become classics.

Tiffany Barqawi Design, a boutique located in Newton, is in charge of decorating the space with green, blues, and natural wood tones to make the space look like the outside was brought inside. Eva’s general manager will be Nick Antonucci who has been assistant general manager at Committee and has opened Trillium Brewing Company as a Bar Manager. Davis Norton, who has worked with Antonucci at Trillium Brewing Company, will serve as the assistant general manager.

Cafeteria was a beloved spot in Boston. It also served as a host to some of the top A-listers such as Rihanna and Tom Brady who were regulars and liked to enjoy one of the biggest patios on the Back Bay. We are sure Eva will achieve the same standards in no time! The restaurant is set to open this March, just in time for the warmer weather and the patio usage!

Eva will serve lunch and dinner on weekdays and brunch and dinner during the weekends with closing times of 11PM for weekdays and 1AM for weekends. Keep an eye on their socials to be up-to-date with all the information in regards to the opening. We will see you there!
